Hippychick bed protectors are a great natural alternative to sweaty plastic waterproof sheets that gave you rustling plastic sheets every time you moved. Instead the fabric is warm, ultra soft, absorbent, waterproof, breathable and non slip. The sheet mattress protector also helps provide an anti allergy barrier to protect against dust mites. Both sides are made of pure brushed cotton so you can use them either side and the waterproof layer is bonded inside.

The waterproof mattress protector is really comfortable, and quiet to sleep on . I used them throughout all my pregnancies and can assure you there was no rustling every time you turn over!

The small is generally for younger children (it is about the same size as most cot mattresses) and the larger sizes are also for teenagers or adults, who require a larger surface area to be protected. 

Incidentally, the larger mats are also fantastic to protect your mattress should your waters break during the night, and then later, once you`ve had your baby when breastfeeding in bed.

Fabric

Hippychick mats are Oeko-Tex standard 100 certificated (Class 1 - especially for babies).They are perfect for protecting children`s beds and a great help in caring for incontinence.

Used as a change mat

Change bags often come with a matching change pad these days. They are usually nasty little cold plastic things which you can only wipe down, not wash. They’re either the right size and bulky when folded down, or slimline when folded and a silly size when opened out. Cold surfaces tend to make babies wee and boys especially are experts at "bounce wees" which tend to `ricochet` off hard plastic surfaces.

The change mat folds down really neatly to fit in your nappy bag, but opens out to a very generous 50cm x 75cm (20” x 32”). And if it gets soiled, it goes in the wash at 60 with the nappies.

Liegelind Bed Protectors

Hippychick bed protectors have replaced the Liegelind bed protectors we used to stock. Liegelind unfortunately ceased to trade in Aug 2011 and their products are no longer available. Hippychick mats are basically the same.
