One of the things that people are worried about when moving to period pants is washing out the blood. It is really simple to wash period underwear and I think over the course of our lives I doubt that we haven't had a pair of regular normal underwear that doesn't have a period blood stain.

Washing period pants in the washing machine is the most effective way to care for your undies.
Here is a basic guide for you to wash period underwear:
- When you remove your used underwear rinse them thoroughly with cold water under the cold tap until the water runs clear (hot water sets stains). You can give them a gently rub to work in the water.
- Gently squeeze out excess water.
- Either pop them in your normal laundry basket with other clothes or store them in a wet bag until wash day.
- Wash on a cool or cold wash cycle at either 30 or 40deg. Use a decent wash cycle length as a quick wash is not enough. You can use your normal detergent but avoid fabric softener
- Ideally line dry or hang to air dry. Some can go in the tumble dryer on low.

Many customers like to use an eco washing detergent however you may find without a proper washing powder you end up with stains or pants that are not fully clean. You can always try to use a normal stain remover and washing powder combination

If you need to hand wash period pants then it is very important you dont skip the cold rinse step when you first remove your underwear.
After you've rinsed them through properly in cold water to hand wash period underwear you can use a small amount of mild detergent and cool water to wash your pants. Gently scrub the gusset fabric against itseslf while washing till the water runs completely clear.

The best way to dry your period pants is to air dry them either on a washing line or on an airer. It is not recommended to tumble dry them, you could damage the outer layer which provides
